Honolulu is in Oahu which is one of the six islands of Hawaii. It is one of the most favored destinations of tourists all over the world. A vast majority of visitors to the Hawaii Islands either stay exclusively in Honolulu or make it a part of their itinerary. Pearl Harbor, which became famous during the Second World War, is located in Honolulu. Honolulu is best known for its Waikiki Beach. It is a two mile long beach with many tourist facilities there. You can surf there or have a canoe ride on the Waikiki Beach. The most popular thing to do on the beach is to soak in the tropical sunshine. Other things you can do on the Waikiki Beach are scuba diving, deep sea fishing and swimming with dolphins. The stunning view of the mountains and the skyline is really magnificent. Honolulu has also the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium and the Honolulu Botanical Gardens. For nature lovers Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is there to see.
Swim only where life guards are present and do not swim alone. If you feel you are in trouble swimming, immediately signal for help from the life guards. Read and observe the swimming safety rules displayed on the beach.
Getting around in Honolulu is made easy by rental cars, chartered buses, cruise boats, etc. The aerial view of Honolulu is simply great and will remain in your mind long after you leave the place.

There are 85 hotels in Honolulu, including Holiday Inn, Hilton Hotel, The Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Park Shore Waikiki. The International Marketplace located on the beachfront has restaurants and all types of shops. Wailana Coffee House is an American restaurant while La Mer Restaurant is a French one. Restaurants like Duke’s Canoe Club offer local traditional cuisine.
